If I hadn’t known better, I would have thought I was in Ireland. The windy roads, the expanse of green, the ocean spread out endlessly.
Sometimes I still like to believe in a whole lot of magic. I imagined that walking through that tunnel changed meters into miles, leaving me to emerge somewhere completely unexpected.
If you stop walking and stand in the middle of that tunnel, you can see both worlds: the city on one side, the trees on the other. It was strange, but in-between places like that are the ones that make me feel most alive. It’s a reminder that you don’t always have to choose, that sometimes you can have everything your heart desires.
That was the moment I fell in love with San Francisco.
